BAT KLIS LOOKING FOR A COMPLIANCE ANALYST – QUALITY ASSURANCE

LOCATION: Sunway Geo, Kuala Lumpur
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is responsible for assisting End Markets with their compliance to BAT’s Standards of Business Conduct, by conducting Quality Assurance Reviews on key legal compliance topics, reporting on their outcomes, recommending corrective actions and process/controls improvements, assisting in providing supporting training, as well as supervising progress in remedial actions and improvements. As part of the 2nd Line of Defence (LoD), provide direct support to End Markets and the company overall with ongoing information on, and assurance of, the robustness / effectiveness of Legal Compliance Controls in the areas of AFC, G&E, and Policy Management, as managed through/by the compliance 1st LoD. Whilst ensuring the highest level of integrity in the way business is conducted, deliver value to business through compliance controls quality assurance, reporting, data/information transparency, and good governance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Conducting Quality Assurance Reviews on compliance controls and reporting outcomes and suggested corrective actions to End Markets (EM), for the following areas of compliance:
- Third Party Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment
- Policy Management
- Gifts & Entertainment (G&E) requests
- Engaging directly with 1st LoD teams in identifying possible process gaps and/or breaches in controls, and remediation activities.
- Collaborating with and seeking mentorship from 2nd LoD compliance topic Domain Experts (SMEs) in validating/confirming process gaps, controls breaches, and remediation activities, including process improvement and changes in ways of working.
- Formulating and presenting Quality Assurance Review reports to 2nd LoD SMEs, 1st Line of Defence teams and BI&C management.
- Supervising completion of quality assurance reviews remediation activities, bringing up as appropriate.
- In collaboration with 2nd LoD SMEs, providing End Markets with process mentorship on G&E, policy management, and Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment.
- In collaboration with 2nd LoD SMEs, conducting process and systems training, related to G&E, Policy management, and Anti-Financial Crime.
- Participating in unit testing for new CRA, G&E and other BI&C Apps.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- Conducting Compliance and/or business Controls monitoring activities, possibly in such areas as Suppliers/Customers KYS/KYC, or other regulatory spaces
- Engaging with multiple collaborators across multiple cultures!
- Working in a highly digitised environment – Being Tech savvy!
- Using data interrogation, management, analytics and reporting tools and analytical methods
- Some relevant experience in compliance (i.e., AML/CTF, Anti Bribery-Corruption, Tax Evasion, Trade Controls, Sanctions, etc.)
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Analytical skills – data interpretation
- Business Engagement skills and business analysis
- Ability to deliver training to small and large audiences.
- Working in multi-functional work teams.
- Interpersonal and presentation skills
- Skilled in use of analytical tools including database interrogating tools (i.e. SQL, MS Excel, PowerBI).
- Medium to advance skills in EXCEL (i.e. building macros, using V-Lookup) and PPT.
