FUNCTION: DBS – SNO Operations

LOCATION: Kuala Lumpur


The primary role of the Demand Forecasting Executive is to execute the Demand Forecasting Process for a portfolio of products as part of Sales and Operational Planning Process to ensure that company objectives are achieved.

Part of the Global Demand Forecasting team within the Supply Network Operations and Digital Business Service team; working alongside the wider Demand Forecasting Community, Supply Chain Managers, Above Market Hubs and Commercial Business Units.

Work to deliver Global Demand Forecasting Transformation focusing on Forecast Accuracy Improvement to deliver NCL savings and Inventory reduction.

Reports to: Demand Forecasting Capability Manager

  • Deliver the Consensus Demand Forecast for a portfolio of products through the monthly planning process.
    • Provide accurate and timely volume performance analysis to facilitate demand forecasting.
    • Maintain statistical forecast models and baseline
    • Maintain forecast drivers at the appropriate level of the product hierarchy
    • Maintain core assumptions and their impact on the demand scenario.
    • Track core assumptions, trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Constructively challenge stakeholders on the accuracy of drivers.

  • Monitors Actual Sales vs Forecast
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Forecast as per Global Guidelines.
    • Track actual performance against forecast, working cross functionally to understand reasons for variance and providing analysis and recommendations to Manager for remedial action.
    • Working with Supply Team to mitigate disruption from the evolution of the forecast.

  • Build and maintain good working relationships within department and intra-department to support implementation and smooth execution of demand forecasting within the Sales & Operational Planning process.
  • Identify and propose improvement opportunities in current process to enhance the effectiveness of the demand planning process within the organization.


Experience Required

  • At least 2-3 years of work experience in a demand planning role.
  • Strong cognitive ability to build forecasting and tracking model from business needs.
  • Strong analytical focus to be able to identify the right information source to extract sales information and maintain sales report and troubleshoot. 

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Ability to manage multiple work streams at the same time.
  • Advantageous:
  • Consumer marketing experience
  • Basic project management skills


  • Display leadership & team player attitude
  • High integrity and honesty.
  • Good communicator.
  • Competent speaking and writing skill in English & Japanese.

Key Success Factors

  • Timely delivery of demand forecast file and performance of actuals vs forecast.
  • Improved company forecast accuracy, leveraging on the accountable forecasting processes reducing Non-Criminal Loss and Working Capital
