ROLE SUMMARY

The AI Business Solutions Manager drives AI initiatives aligned with business strategy, fostering innovation and ensuring Responsible AI practices. This role involves building partnerships, staying ahead of trends, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver impactful outcomes. This role will drive the adoption of AI technologies across business units, boosting efficiency, productivity, and innovation. It will also help cultivate new capabilities, supporting BAT’s commitment to A Better Tomorrow.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define project requirements, objectives, and technologies related to AI.
  • Conduct research to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the technology industry with focus on: Generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
  • Find opportunities to integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, platforms and processes.
  • Support and establish effective guidelines and standards for implementing Generative AI applications within the organization.
  • Identify and explore new use cases through active engagement with clients and the developer community / supplier eco system.
  • Actively engage with and grow our community of developers, users, and enthusiasts. Attend and speak at industry conferences, workshops, and meetups.
  • Engage in webinars, workshops, and training sessions to educate and encourage builders and other collaborators about the potential of Generative AI.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

  • Leadership and Influence: Demonstrate solid leadership skills, inspiring and guiding cross-functional teams to achieve AI-related goals.
  • Business & Technical Competence: Demonstrated knowledge of AI technologies and their potential applications within the business context.
  • Attitude Towards Innovation: Demonstrated track record of encouraging an innovative attitude, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Experimentation & Innovation with Technology: Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Responsible AI: Ensuring that all AI initiatives adhere to (internal and external) ethical standards and regulatory requirements, promoting transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI usage.

Experience Required

  • Experience in managing programs & projects for digital transformation, technology application, operational business processes, and vendor performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Able to implement innovative ideas.
  • Experience in working within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Strong working relationships with technology partners.
  • Experience managing near shore and offshore teams.
  • Experience with delivering AI related initiatives is preferred.
  • Project management and governance experience preferred.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Technology generalist with the ability to deep dive as needed.
  • Able to scan and understand technology trends and major vendor roadmaps.
  • Ability to identify business implications of new technology.
  • Understand business goals & priorities.
  • Ability to generate business value realization drafts for the technology proposed or implemented.
  • Maintains a good General knowledge of how the business functions.
  • Follows evolving market trends for Retail & Consumer goods industry.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • A bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business management or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

BENEFICIAL

  • Familiar with Information Security standards and effective approaches.
  • Experience in Vendor Performance Management.
  • Technical experience on new technologies, particularly AI / Data & Analytics.
